The PEG chain length from amide to terminal carbonyl is 16 atoms or 19.2 A long, which is an ideal spacer length for the streptavidin binding pocket. This compound is an amine reactive PEGylated biotinylation reagent, optimal for solid phase synthesis. Very water soluble, hydrophilic and eliminates non-specific binding upon labeling. Non-antigenic and non-immunogenic spacer arm. The PEG chain eliminates aggregation and precipitation when labeling antibodies and other biological materials, which isa severe problem with conventional biotinylation reagents.
