Albizziin acts as a competitive inhibitor of asparagine synthetase with respect to glutamine in mammalian cells. It acts also as an inhibitor of glutamate synthase in ectomycorrhizal fungal isolates and inhibitor of glutamine metabolism in microbes. 1.
