Azido-PEGs
Polye(ethylene glycols) are made of monomer units connected via an ether bond. As this is a rare chemical bond in living nature, the human body does not possess suitable enzymes to degrade polyether molecules rendering them not biodegradable and thus inert. PEGs are available from pure, monodisperse, discrete molecules with short chain lengths or even one ethylene oxide unit only, to long polydisperse constructs, both linear and branched. At Iris Biotech, we offer azido-functionalized PEGs which can easily be further conjugated via Click chemistry.
