Dextrans

Dextrans

The dextran main chain is composed of alpha-1,6-glucose with about 5% alpha-1,3-branching. Compounds are prepared by proprietary methods yielding stable, monofunctionalized dextrans, with a single functional group on the end of the polymer. Extensive processing and testing is performed to ensure high reproducibility with minimal lot-to-lot variation. Our monofunctionalized dextrans can be used like poly(ethylene glycol)s, e.g. to increase protein half-life, to reduce immunogenicity, or to passivate surfaces. Further derivatives can be provided based on custom synthesis.
