description
1,4-Benzenedimethanethiol is used as thiol scavenger during solid-phase peptide synthesis. 1,4-BDMT is reported to afford the peptide in higher quality than standard aliphatic thiol reagents. Besides, in contrast to other thiol scavengers, this reagent is odorless.
